Jonathan Liebesman (director of ”Battle: Los Angeles”) will also be directing Clash Of The Titans 2, with Sam Worthington reprising his role as Perseus and Gemma Arterton expected to return as his love interest Io.

Warner Bros needed to bring in a new director after Louis Leterrier decided not to return for the sequel.

As yet, they have not set a release date for the movie, though shooting is rumoured to start early in 2011.

It is reported that this project is a high priority for Warner, because of the first movie’s solid box office performance that reached nearly USD 500 million.

Warner and Legendary Pictures are once again joining forces to produce the movie which will be filmed in 3D rather than being post-converted as was the case for the previous one.

Writing the screenplay for this one are David Leslie Johnson and Dan Mazeau.
